Less than ten citizens attended an informational meeting about the City of Sherbrookeâs controversial new zoning regulation Wednesday night, but the few that did attend raised some serious questions about the plan that city representatives seemed to have difficulty trying to answer.
A new research chair at the Université de Sherbrooke will attempt to identify the causes of type 2 diabetes in the hopes of being able to one day treat the chronic disease very early, or even establish preventative measures against it.
The newly established chair, announced at a press conference on Thursday afternoon, will focus on the role of fatty foods in acting as a trigger for the disease.

Sûreté du Québec officers in Sherbrooke arrested a local man Tuesday on charges of being in possession of child pornography.
âHe had in his possession, on his computer, images of child pornography,â said SQ spokesperson Louis-Philippe Ruel. âThe computer was seized and may lead to further charges after it undergoes a complete analysis.â
The 45-year-old Jean-Philippe Muratori was arrested at his home and appeared in a Sherbrooke court on those charges late Tuesday afternoon.
School may have just started but it seems several students have already worn out their welcome with Lennoxville residents following immature and destructive antics during homecoming last weekend.
