More than 350 runners from 10 schools participated Tuesday, October 11 in the ETSB Elementary School Cross Country Run in a super, weather-perfect day. Everyone ran about two kilometres.
Several Galt kids came to visit their former schools/teachers, and there was great parent support.
There are three runners missing from the medals picture.
Great effort, enthusiasm, concentration, determination, success and FUN! Weâre proud of all of our ETSB runners!
Stanstead College will host the Canadian Accredited Independent Schools Senior Boys Invitational Soccer Tournament from Friday, October 14 to Sunday, October 16.
Twenty teams from British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada will converge on the campus for three full days of soccer on five fields.
The Bishopâs Gaiters football team now officially finds itself in a position they were hoping to avoid all season long, needing to defeat the powerhouse Laval Rouge & Or in order to have a chance at making a playoff run this year.
Laval has been seemingly untouchable throughout the year, other than a hiccup last weekend in which they lost to Montreal. The Rouge & Or have been virtually steamrolling through other RSEQ teams since the season began in September.
Legends are born in October. Thatâs the axiom that has been told to generations of baseball fans. While itâs important that you get it done over 163 games for six months during the summer, what really matters is the handful you play over the span of a couple of weeks.
Thatâs the belief system that seems to permeate the leagueâs front offices, often to the detriment of a teamâs bankroll.
Weâre watching movies and telling stories? Great! I would like large popcorn with extra butter and a matching supersized coke, please. Whatâs that? You want me to watch the movies first and then decide what type of snack I want?!
Well, if youâre looking for inspirational stories to help you reacquire that toned body you seem to have misplaced, you may want to check the following running movies that could get you off the couch and hopefully put a damper on those junk food cravings. Find the following titles at www.amazon.com or your local library.

The Bishopâs University womenâs basketball team is readying to host their annual Reebok Shoot for the Cure charity tournament this weekend, a fundraising initiative to raise money for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and other related cancer charities.
Teams participating in this yearâs tournament are the Queenâs University Gaels, the University of Toronto Varsity Blues and the Montreal Dynamo senior club team.

Back in June of this summer, the Record had reported on a determined mother, Dorothée Roy, who was on a mission to bring sledge hockey to Sherbrooke to allow her son Samuel, an 11-year-old boy with cerebral palsy, to practice the sport he loves without having to travel long distances every weekend.
At the time, Roy was excited that the new Complex Sportif Thibault GM had agreed to have her host a free demonstration of sledge hockey (sometimes referred to as adapted hockey), open to the public in hopes of generating interest in the sport around the Townships.

In a battle of crosstown rivals the Sherbrooke Vert & Or proved their dominance over the Bishopâs Gaiters in Saturdayâs game, winning their fourth straight Mayorâs Cup Game and improving their record to equal first place Laval.
The Sherbrooke squad won the game by a score of 38-11, being led once again by rookie standout quarterback Jérémi Doyon-Roch as he passed for two touchdowns and ran in a for another, helping his team along the way to another impressive victory.

It may seem like just days ago that Sherbrooke and Bishopâs opened the season for this yearâs RSEQ football league, but itâs been just over a month since the two teams met back on September 4, and a lot has changed since that 25-23 victory by the Vert & Or.
The crosstown rivals will meet again Saturday night in the annual Mayorâs Cup Game held at U de S.
The two teams have taken slightly different paths through the season thus far; the Vert & Or sitting comfortably in second place in the league with a 4-1 record, whereas as the Gaiters are next to last with their 2-3 record.
The following are actual -mail messages I received this week from fellow Dallas Cowboys fans following their epic collapse to the Detroit Lions this past weekend:
âAs a die-hard Cowboy fan, Iâve never been more ashamed of my team than this past Sundayâs fiasco/debacle/disaster!!! Itâs almost enough to turn off for the season and wait for either i) them to trade Romo immediately or ii) next season.â
