After their successful partnership last June, Studio Georgeville and CEDEC Small Business Support Network are joining forces again to respond to the demand of local arts entrepreneurs by launching a special workshop series.
Hosted by dynamic and seasoned facilitator Christa Fairchild, an arts entrepreneur with an MBA, the autumn series will present workshops she has developed and offered in the Montreal area, designed to reinforce the business skills local artists need.
A 51-year-old Magog man accused of inciting sexual contact with four infant girls was acquitted at the Sherbrooke courthouse Tuesday morning based on a lack of evidence.
The trial was over before it started, with crown prosecutors saying that not enough evidence had been found during the investigation to prove the man was guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. The credibility of the statements taken were deemed not solid enough due to the young age of the victims, among other reasons.

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.9 struck near Washington, DC Tuesday afternoon. The epicenter was in a small town by the name of Mineral in Virginia.

While those who freely give their time to help in schools, libraries, churches and museums play a vital role, not every volunteer can say that what they do, quite literally, could mean the difference between life and death. However, some 35 members of the Town of Brome Lake First Responders can.
The first responder team offers pre-hospital medical services, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Their mission is to stabilize people in need of medical assistance while waiting for the arrival of an ambulance.

Canada is moving on to the next round at the Little League World Series.
Yi-An Pan pitched five innings and added a home run Monday as the team from Langley, BC, upset Taiwan 5-3.
The victory improved Canadaâs record to 2-1 and earned it a spot in the next round, where it will face either Japan or Saudi Arabia on Tuesday afternoon.
Pan allowed two earned runs on nine hits over five innings of work before leading off the top of the sixth with a homer to give Canada a two-run lead.
Cole Cantelon recorded the final three outs to get the save.
