Football is back for Massey-Vanier students

August 10, 2011

It is with enthusiasm that the football team from Massey-Vanier began its activities for the 2011 season. The next season will be with a lot of novelty and changes. First, for the first time in more than 40 years, the two schools united in a common sports team. Indeed, students from Massey-Vanier High School will join students from École secondaire Massey-Vanier to form the 2011 football team.
The new team will play in the first division football league Juvenile RESQ Montérégie area. “It’s a challenge,” says Jacques Giard, head coach of this new team. “Now the team is not only a school program but a regional one, and by bringing back football at Massey-Vanier High, it will bring a new dimension to both schools.”
Registration to join the new team will be held this Sunday, August 14 at the Massey-Vanier football locker room, from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Players will receive their equipment at the same time, because the next day, Monday, August 15, the team starts its preparation for the upcoming season that begins September 2 when Massey-Vanier will host École Louis-Philippe-Paré from Chateauguay at 7:30 p.m. All practices will be at Massey-Vanier from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
