Ice storm 20th anniversary

It was on this day 20 years ago that a state of emergency was declared in parts of Ontario and Quebec due to one of the worst ice storms in recorded history. The storm, which began on Jan 5, 1998, left 1.3 million without power in Quebec and Ontario; some didn’t regain electricity until early February. Readers are invited to share their memories from the ice storm and any pictures they may have. Submissions can be emailed to newsroom@sherbrookerecord.com or delivered to the office at 6 Mallory. Full story in the Monday, Jan. 8th edition of The Record.
