Pep’s Restaurant in Lennoxville was one of several local venues that set the scene for Montreal filmmaker Jérôme Cloutier’s first feature length slasher film “The Devil’s Music”. Currently in postproduction, the film is expected to screen in Sherbrooke next summer. Photo: Jessica Goodsell

This summer while Townshippers enjoyed their fun in the sun, they were blissfully unaware that a tall, dark, supernatural serial killer was stalking the woods and leaving a bloody trail of the all too curious.
It’s strange yes, but is it true? Well not quite.
The killer, woods and group of too curious vacationing friends, form the storyline for the 1980’s slasher film “The Devil’s Music” which was captured on film in Lennoxville and North Hatley in August.
The feature length production is the first for Montreal filmmaker Jérôme Cloutier who began his film career with a series of short films shot in and around Sherbrooke.
“I started out as a writer and actor in my friend Rémi Fréchette’s first films, when we both attended the same high school,” Cloutier told The Record. “I then moved on to directing and producing my own films, which progressed slowly towards bigger and better projects, culminating in my desire to shoot a feature film.”
