A little greener than the year before

In less than nine days, Stanstead will become a hub of the English speaking culture and community for the annual Townshipper’s Day celebration but this year vendors and visitors will have a liquid challenge to live up to.
For the 32nd T-Day, Green Team President Jennifer Reinbold wants to give bottled water the boot.
“Bishop’s University and the University de Sherbrooke both banned bottled water on campus and it seems like it went pretty well,” Reinbold said. “I think its something that is really not that challenging for people to adopt. Almost everybody has two or three reusable water bottles lying around. All we’re asking is that they bring their bottles to T-Day, we’ll have a water source on site for people to fill up at.”
Reinbold is continuing a five-year tradition set by previous T-Day committees who wanted to ensure a minimal amount of waste was produced by the event's 8,000 to 10,000 visitors.
