Local conference to sow seeds of community in Sherbrooke

A conference called, “Sherbrooke Ville Nourricière,” or “Sherbrooke: Nourishing City” is coming to the Granada Theatre on May 11 with the mission of bringing people together to learn about and support urban agriculture initiatives in the area. Organized in partnership with Les Amies de la Terre, Sherbrooke’s regional solidarity market, the event hopes to bring together local leaders in community gardening and urban cultivation to help develop a long-term vision for Sherbrooke as a centre for social agriculture.“We want to make people aware of the supply, because for many people all they know is IGA and Provigo,” said Hugo Latour, Volunteer Coordinator for the upcoming event.
