St. Francis Elementary School in Richmond has found a fun way to let local book lovers help stock the shelves of its library. Teaming up with national book and gift chain Indigo, the school is holding what’s known as a “FUNdraiser” where a percentage of the value of participants’ purchases is given back to the school as credit for the purchase of new books. “We started this before Christmas with the idea that, since Indigo sells more than just books, this could help serve all of people’s gift giving needs,” said Carie Nixon, the PPO committee member responsible for the school library, who is heading up the FUNdraiser alongside teacher Helena Bates.
