It has now been one week since the unfortunate day camp accident in Bromptonville during which a total of 59 people, many of them children, were sent to the hospital suffering from injuries related to the hayride accident.
The pastor of the Evangelical Baptist Church of Lennoxville, Mario Roy, held a press conference the day following the accident at which he seemed emotionally overwhelmed, distraught and mostly worried for those affected in the accident.
One week after those 48 hours of turmoil and uncertainty, the Record spoke with Roy to try and get a better understanding of how the whole situation seems to him in retrospect âthe first thing I can say is that you are never prepared for something like this to happen, it never even crossed our mind that this could be the outcome of the event,â he said before adding âall I can say at this point is how grateful I am to the Lord and how conscious I am of how much worst the outcome could have been than what it is today.â
