The boxes are piling up in Bianca Battistini’s home, but that’s exactly what she wants, until October 1 that is.
The Sherbrooke resident has spent the last few weeks accepting donations of leftovers from garage sales and overstock from downsizing moves in preparation for her monstrous charity garage sale to help give unwanted animals a second chance.
Battistini says she was inspired to find a way to help Pet Connection founder Jen Young cover her current veterinary bills so she could continue her mission of finding pets new, stable and loving homes.
“I love animals and what Jen is doing for all these animals, but what she is doing with putting her whole pay cheque towards the Pet Connection is crazy,” she said. “I told her she has a family and kids that she will have to send to university one day.”
Battistini is one of a growing number of Townshippers who are lending their support to see the Pet Connection service survive by helping ensure prospective pet placements get the proper veterinary care, including vaccinations and sterilizations, before finding a home.
