The Stanstead College senior girls basketball team won the AAESQ MacLeod Provincial Tournament this past Friday, the second year in a row for the team. The Spartans opened the two-day playoffs Thursday at Howard S. Billings High School in Chateauguay, where they defeated Massey-Vanier High School 40-20 and Centennial Regional 46-22. Friday saw a semi-final against Notre-Dame-des-Lourdes 52-24 to set up a final against MVR. The Spartans came away with a score or 54-31. Mackenzy St-Pierre, Grade 11 of Ogden, Que., was named tournament MVP. See full story in the Monday, March 5th edition of The Record.
