South Stukely explosion injures worker

At 10:40 a.m. Thursday, police were called to intervene in a factory on Route 112 in South Stukely following an explosion at a small natural fertilizer plant.
An employee was operating a machine when an accumulation of gas exploded, causing him burns to the face and hands. There was no fire, however.
The injured man was transported to the hospital for treatment. The victim is a man in his fifties who has worked at this site for several years.
An investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances of the event.
