For 110 years, The Record has been the voice of the English-speaking population of the Eastern Townships and a vehicle for those who want to reach the community with news and advertising.
When The Record was launched in 1897, it became the first English-language daily in Quebec to be published outside of Montreal and Quebec City, and today is the only English-language daily published outside of Montreal.
A century ago, the paper made a commitment to "foster the 'bonne entente' which exists between French and English Townshippers, to provide a rich vehicle for local and national advertising, to supply readers with the latest news and features while upholding the traditions of those pioneers who laid so firmly the foundations upon which the Eastern Townships has grown."
The Record has successfully combined those founding principles with advance technology to continue to respond to the needs of readers and advertisers to deliver a message in a timely fashion.
In 2007, there is no better way to reach the region's English-speaking population than through the newspaper they have known and trusted for 110 years.
