“Dentists do not grow up with training to be aggressive. We are trained to be gentle, then we get people like these who are aggressive and formidable and our only recourse it to go public and let people know,” he said. The trouble began during a routine 2006 office inspection when an inspector attempted to confiscate original patient charts. At the time, Herten-Greaven, who has been practising dentistry for nearly 40 years in Montreal and Lennoxville, refused to hand over the originals. He turned over copies of the treatment files instead. “As an opening gesture of co-operation I took good copies of the files. These people took the kit and caboodle, wrote their report and then wrote me a letter asking for the originals,” said Herten-Greaven. “My lawyer offered to certify (the copies) but they refused to accept that, they wanted the originals.” For full story, please pick up today's Record By Corrinna Pole Lennoxville 2009-07-03 |
