Prison officials at Cowansville penitentiary seized $8,000 in marijuana during a standard search procedure of on its prisoners leaving a visitors area on Wednesday.
Corrections Canada is investigating the incident. In the meantime, officials are asking the public to call 1-866-220-7782 with any information about drug trafficking between visitors and prisoners or any suspicious behaviour in the centre’s visitor area.
