Sherbrooke’s Domino’s donated all proceeds from Monday’s sales to Haiti.

Tuesday, an exhausted Corey Morin told The Record the promotion netted “a dollar or two over $10,000.”
“In my wildest dreams I didn’t expect it to be that much but there it is. It was incredible,” said the franchise owner. “This is a project I wanted to do but without everyone’s help it would not have been as successful.”
Morin had 23 staff rushing to fill orders along with himself, a volunteer who came from Montreal and a few extra volunteers who dropped in to lend a hand where they could. The money raised is to be matched by the Federal Government.
The store’s five phone lines were ringing non-stop for five hours straight and special deliveries had be planned for areas beyond their regular zones.
“My sister made four tips to Richmond where people could meet at one spot and pick up their pizzas,” said Morin.
“We even had people come in from the Cookshire area to pick up orders and I imagine usually with the cost of gas that’s not a trip they’d make if not for this.”
Domino’s Pizza Canada waved their royalties for the day, according to Morin that makes approximately a $920 donation from the national offices, and a representative from the company personally delivered 20 trays of pizza dough (the equivalent of 120 pizzas) and a hundred extra boxes.
Even with the extra supply added to the regular stock, by closing time the fridge was almost bare with just 36 pizzas left.
“I’m super, super, super happy. People waited a long time but I think it was ok because they knew it was for a good cause,” said Morin. ”It’s hard for me to really express how grateful I am because this is just incredible.”
Morin added he was grateful for the many people who helped make the campaign a success especially when it came to local media adding their support through advertising and exposure,
“We did a good thing and raised a lot of money but without the support we got we wouldn’t have been able to do it,” said Morin.
The amount collected will be fully donated to the Canadian Red Cross Haiti Relief Fund and is eligible to be matched by the Federal Government.
