Good cheese getting stickers—La Chaudiere restocking |
|
|
Fromagerie La Chaudiere breathed a sigh of relief over the weekend as the Canadian Food Inspection Agency informed the Lake Megantic business to restock their shelves with products recalled last week due to salmonella fears. Samples studied by the inspection agency contained no signs of the bacteria, and the administration plans to add a sticker to the products guaranteeing the quality of their goods. Over the last few weeks, approximately 120 people were stricken with salmonella poisoning, and at least one person has died from it. -Joe Strizzi September 9, 2008
