Ayer’s Cliff 32-unit apartment building project raises concerns

Ayer’s Cliff residents presented a petition with more than 100 signatures calling on the municipal council to reconsider a proposed apartment building construction project.
The council acknowledged the petition, however Mayor Vincent Gérin has gone ahead with the first step of the project, which is to present an outline at the next council meeting on Aug. 2. Residents are worried about the impact construction will have on day-to-day life.
“Well mainly because it is a 32 [unit] apartment building they feel that it is going to be too much traffic in the area, plus they give all kinds of other arguments, of course, when you are against something you give all kinds of arguments, environment and all that,” said Gérin.
