The Uplands Cultural and Heritage Centre will host a summer art exhibit and sale featuring works by Sara Peck Colby, Lucy Doheny, and Denis Palmer from May 4 to August 31, 2025, at 9 Speid Street. The exhibition will include paintings and ceramic pieces inspired by nature, according to a press release.
A vernissage will take place on Sunday, May 4, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and an artists’ reception is scheduled for Thursday, June 26, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Admission to both events is free, and refreshments will be served.
Sara Peck Colby, who has been painting local landscapes for over fifty years, describes her work as capturing “surprise and delight” from life. Denis Palmer will present ink drawings, watercolour sketches, and woodcut prints of trees, forests, and waterways. Ceramic artist Lucy Doheny will showcase original pieces highlighting the connection between clay and the earth’s origins.
Uplands is open Thursday to Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with extended hours from Tuesday to Sunday beginning June 25. Admission is free.
The centre will also launch its summer Heritage Tea service on June 25. Reservations can be made at www.uplands.ca.
