As Quebecers prepare to go to the polls to elect a new provincial government at the beginning of October, the leadership of the Quebec Community Groups Network (QCGN) is looking to make sure that English-speaking voters know where the different parties stand on a number of issues of concern.
“We are going to be asking very direct questions to each party leader,” said QCGN president Eva Ludwig, presenting the initiative as a continuation of the work that the organization has already been doing to advocate for English speaking minority communities issues related to Bills 40, 21 and 96. “We think it’s important for the English speaking community to be very much aware of the issues for the upcoming election and where each party stands on these issues.”
The organization has compiled a significant collection of issues based on past advocacy work as well as consultation with different community groups working within English-speaking communities across the province. The full list can be found on the group’s website at https://qcgn.ca/2022-provincial-elections/
