By Steve Blake – The Town of Brome Lake administration revealed Monday, Dec. 17 at a press conference that taxpayers will see a reduction in their tax rate in 2019. But their tax bills will increase slightly nonetheless. The 4.4 per cent tax rate reduction comes as a result of the increase of property values in TBL. The latest assessment values all properties in town at more than $1.52 billion, up from $1.39 billion in the previous assessment. The average property value increase is 9.34 per cent, while the largest increase is a 25.8 per cent rise in the value of waterfront property.
