Young pumpkin wins by a hair

The giant pumpkin competition, part of the annual harvest festival in Lennoxville, was a real nail-biter this year. After a second trip to the scale to be sure, The Record’s own Steve Young was named the winner of this year’s edition with a whopping 1,145-pound pumpkin. Fletcher Juby’s pumpkin skipped breakfast and came in a very close second, just five pounds lighter at 1,140 pounds. See full story in the Monday, Sept. 30 edition of The Record.
