The Magog Cantonniers lost 7-2 to the Collège Charles-Lemoyne Riverains on Friday night in a game that saw the opposing team score three times during a power play. As has been the case with the team’s games so far, the match was a pre-season game at the home arena in Magog.
Power play goals from Mathys Blanchette and Antoine Lussier early in the third period hurt Samuel Collard’s proteges who trailed by five afterwards. Blanchette then scored a second goal later in the same period.
Nathan Quinn, Christophe Lussier, Zachary Bomhower, Philippe Veilleux and Riley Pawsey scored the other goals for the winners who sent 36 shots flying at goaltender Victor Larin.
Although the Cantonniers made 30 shots on goal over the course of the game, only those of Éloi Robert and Médéric Henrichon made it in as goalkeepers Benjamin Lelièvre and Vincent Gladu kept the Riverains net sealed tight.
