The bicycle ride from Key West, Florida (the southernmost point of North America) to Windsor, Quebec was an exhilarating challenge but not necessarily one to be repeated, at least for Marie-Thérèse Bernard, one of 15 cyclists who completed the 10-day relay earlier this month.
“It was a challenge on a couple of different levels,” says the Cleveland resident, an avid and experienced cyclist. “For some of us it was physically demanding to pedal six to eight hours a day, and it also required some adaptability to suddenly find yourself living in very close quarters with people you’d just met.”
