By Emilie Hackett, Special to the Record – There will be a silent walk to denounce violence against women on Thursday, Dec. 6 at 5:30 p.m. at the Marché de la Gare in Sherbrooke. Organised by l’Escale de l’Estrie, a shelter for women and children affected by domestic violence, the event is a first for the organization. “We organize several awareness-raising campaigns, but we wanted to put forward an event that really focuses in honouring victims of gender-based violence,” explained an employee at l’Escale.
