The Province of Quebec reported 703 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, bringing the total number of people infected to 395,155 with 5,837 active cases. There was one new death recorded, bringing the total since the start of the pandemic to 11,297. The number of hospitalizations in the province increased by 20, to 198, and 70 of those people were in intensive care.
In the Eastern Townships the number of active cases climbed to 230 but the number of people in hospital went from four to three. Of those three, one was in intensive care.
The provincial vaccination rate reached 77 per cent overall for a single dose (88 per cent of those eligible) with 82.5 per cent of the eligible population now being considered adequately vaccinated.
