Active Covid cases increase by nearly 900 in one week

The Province of Quebec reported 369 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, bringing the total number of people infected to 380,407. As a result of the increase, the number of active cases in the province climbed to 2,353, almost 900 more than this time one week ago.
The number of deaths across the province since the start of the pandemic remained stable at 11,242, but the number of hospitalizations increased by 14, to 81, with 28 in intensive care.
In the Eastern Townships the number of active cases continued to climb reaching 99, more than twice the number there was a week ago. Sherbrooke and the Haute-Yamaska continue to be the hotspots of the region, with 38 and 41 of the 99 cases, respectively. There were no changes to the number of deaths or hospitalizations in the region.
Provincewide vaccination rates have reached 85 per cent for first dose and 73 per cent for a second.
