After a postponement of several weeks, La Maison Aube-Lumière will introduce its previously announced ‘activity days’ for people with cancer in palliative care and their loved ones. The Maison is now happy to announce that the first two activity day events will officially kick off on February 19. Coffee Klatch The aim of the coffee meetings is to enable people in the palliative phase of cancer and their families to interact with other people in the same situation, such as transitioning from curative phase to palliative care. Groups will be made up of a maximum of 12 people and will be led by a specialist in palliative care from La Maison. There will be two distinct groups, one for patients and the one for their loved ones. Meetings will be held every second Monday from 9:30 am to 11:30 am. Massage sessions On Wednesday afternoons, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. patients will be able to take advantage of a massage given by a massage therapist specializing in oncology. Each massage lasts about of 45 minutes at a minimal cost of $10. The activities be held at La Maison Aube-Lumière.
