Purchasing a reliable bicycle won’t have to break the bank thanks to a returning community initiative.

By using recycled bike parts and giving them new life, the annual Foire Aux Vélos put on by Estrie Aide offers families the opportunity to purchase second-hand bikes that were fixed by mechanics for an affordable price. Bike sizes range from toddlers, youth to adults.

The 11th edition of the Foire Aux Vélos will take place on April 29 from 9 a.m. to noon at 356 Rue Wellington Sud.

According to Michel Lesage, Executive Director of Estrie Aide, the goal of the bike sale has always been the same – to provide a great product to the community at an affordable rate.

“The cost of a bike is so expensive when you buy it brand new,” said Lesage, who highlighted the average price of a bike at Estrie Aide’s sale will be between $75 to $150. “People really enjoy the sale and a lot of people rely on the sale.”
