On Thursday the group of local citizens supporting the Rodriguez-Flores family during their time living in Sanctuary at Plymouth-Trinity United Church in Sherbrooke put out a press lrease expressing gratitiude for a donation of $2,000 plus $200 worth of grocery certificates and numerous boxes of non-perishable goods from the Saint-Élie branch of the Knights of Columbus.
So far the support group has held seven vigils, a public march in the streets of Sherbooke with several hundred people in attendence, varied benefit events, and has put together a petition with over 20,000 signatures all calling for an end to the deportation order faced by the family.
