AstraZeneca vaccine now available to 45 and older

Starting Wednesday, April 21, anyone 45 years and older is eligible to receive a dose of AstraZeneca vaccine. Appointments can be made at various vaccination centres in the Estrie through the Quebec.ca/vaccinCovid website. Walk-ins are also welcome at the Centre de Foires in Sherbrooke in the evenings between 5 and 8 p.m. on April 21, 22 and 23.
Quebec reported 1,136 new cases of COVID-19 in the last day. There are currently 12,363 active cases in the province. There were 17 new deaths reported, bringing the total to 10,833 deaths.
Hospitalizations increased by eight for a total of 694. Patients in intensive care decreased by six for a total of 177.
In the Estrie region, 41 new cases of COVID-19 were reported, bringing the total number of active cases to 387. One new death was also reported, bringing the total to 330.
COVID-19 variants now account for 79.2 per cent of confirmed cases in the province.
