Ayer’s Cliff defers Ripplecove zoning  by-law change

The Ayer’s Cliff municipal council decided to postpone the adoption of a proposed alteration to a zoning by-law in the REC-5 sector that would allow the owner of the Ripplecove Inn to develop multi-family residential condominiums.
The historic hotel is currently undergoing an expansion project. But owner and promoter Richard Laliberté wants to start a number of projects, which includes building several three-storey condo hotels and multi-family units to attract permanent residents.
In a press release, the council “concluded that the projects, as currently drafted, do not adequately meet the appropriate precision criteria for sound management of this territory, including adjacent areas.”
