The annual arena sale for the benefit of the Bishop’s University /Champlain Regional College Refugee-Student Sponsorship Committee took place this past Saturday, offering treasure hunters from across the area one of the first chances of the spring to find interesting and unusual second-hand items. “We were extremely happy with the success of the sale,” said committee member Nancy Robichaud. “We would like to thank everyone in our community for donating items and for supporting the sale by attending.” Robichaud highlighted the fact that the event was able to raise funds for the refugee student program through both the sale itself and through the raffle of a cake prepared by Clough Street Cakes for the occasion. The event was also able to make a donation the the Operation Backpack project through a half-and-half drawing that was offered to those waiting in line prior to the sale’s opening.
