By Emilie Hackett, Special to the Record – The Bishop’s University women’s hockey team travelled over 1,200 km over the weekend for a series of six matches in three days. The men and women’s basketball teams faced McGill twice, in Montreal on Thursday and in Lennoxville on Saturday, but neither scored a win. In a thrilling tournament, the Bishop’s hockey team is currently 2-2 for the weekend, winning twice to Liberty University’s Division II team, once 8-1 and once 2-0. However, Liberty University’s Division I team was too strong for the Gaiters, who lost 9-1 on Saturday and 5-2 on Sunday. They also played the United States Naval Academy’s hockey team twice later Sunday evening. The Gaiters, still ranked #1 as of Sunday in the second division in the American Collegiate Hockey Association, will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 9, in Lennoxville against Northeastern University.
