Bishop’s publishes recommendations from independent sexual violence review

Bishop’s University has published an independent review of the school’s practices and policies related to sexualized violence on its website. The Canadian Centre for Legal Innovation in Sexual Assault Response (CCLISAR) offered a list of recommendations to implement future positive change related to sexual violence at Bishop’s.
This review comes after an anonymous message was left on the Bishop’s bridge in November 2021, reading, “He raped me, I reported, he’s still in my class, BU take action.” The message immediately generated attention, concern, and discussion within the Bishop’s community about the university’s response to sexual violence.
