By Emilie Hackett, Special to the Record – Bishop’s University’s men’s and women’s rugby teams travelled to New Jersey and Massachusetts over the weekend to face Princeton University and Rutgers University, and the University of New England and Boston College. They won all four 15-player exhibition games. Despite a cancelled preparatory game on Friday, April 5, due to heavy rain, the men’s varsity and the “B” rugby teams made their way down to Princeton, New Jersey and played 15-player rugby in perfect sunny weather. “It was the first time our team had played on grass since last fall,” specified head coach Andrew Cowell. Since the RSEQ season, many members of the team had participated in a few seven-player indoor rugby tournaments in Ontario this winter. See full story in the Tuesday, April 9 edition of The Record.
