Bishop’s women’s hockey hopes to join the big leagues

By Emilie Hackett, Special to the Record – The Bishop’s University women’s hockey team has clinched the number one spot in the ACHA (American Collegiate Hockey Association) league in the second division, and they do not plan to stop there. The team, only two years young, has requested to transition into U Sports, Canada’s official interuniversity sport’s association, in the Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec (RSEQ) subdivision. They are hoping to join the ranks of Concordia, McGill, Université de Montréal, Carleton, and more. Led by Dominic Desmarais since June, the Gaiters are looking for their next challenge.
