The Lennoxville Curling Club concluded the 25th annual Borough of Lennoxville Bonspiel on Oct. 23. Each year the Lennoxville Curling Club and the Borough of Lennoxville jointly sponsor this bonspiel which is an event to raise money for a local charity whose activities benefits the local community. This year the Borough of Lennoxville choose the Lennoxville and District Women’s Centre, a group of English-speaking women who strives to empower and connect women in the Eastern Townships through education, support and advocacy. The LDWC received $1,000 through the generosity of 120 participating curlers and the generosity of many of Lennoxville’s local businesses. Of the 120 curlers, 45 were new to curling!
In the final matches, Jeff Bailes skipped his team to victory over Marc Richard’s team in a thrilling extra final to take the Main Trophy while on sheet 2, Sylvain Milhomme’s team was defeated, giving up the Consolation Trophy to Daniel Mercier’s foursome.
