Sherbrooke Elementary School student Tamara Richer was one of many generous donors cutting their hair as part of the Leucan shaved head challenge on Sunday afternoon at the L2D salon in Rock Forest.
Richer made the decision months ago to undergo a “coupe coutte,” donating around 10 inches of her hair. She set a modest fundraising goal of $500, but due to overwhelming support from people around her, Richer more than tripled her original fundraising goal. While she was a bit nervous when she first sat in the chair, she was all smiles once she was shown the locks of her hair that will be used to make hair pieces for people undergoing cancer treatment.
The Record would like to congratulate Richer and the other donors who participated in Sunday’s head shave challenge, for their courage and generosity.
