Some might think that the weeks following Bishop’s University’s Orientation Week are like the calm after a storm, but they would be strongly mistaken. In fact, for the Students’ Representative Council (SRC), it is only the beginning. The Record spoke with SRC President Marilyn Hardy to learn more about the upcoming projects for the 2019-2020 academic year. A Shawinigan native, Hardy is responsible for overseeing, supporting, and encouraging the school’s executive cabinet, the elected board members, and hired employees throughout their daily administration and as they pursue their goals. She also serves as a member of the board of governors. In her campaign, she prioritized environmental sustainability, enabling concrete mental health action based on the Fall of 2018 provincial survey, and focusing on the institution’s accountability. To add onto the SRC’s daily responsibilities, the federal elections are just around the corner and the council is making sure to keep the students informed.
