In light of the fact that The Bulwer Golden Age club has not met since March 10, a Christmas drive-through was held on Tuesday, December 1 at the Bulwer Community Center.
It’s been a difficult year for everyone; especially for the seniors; the bi-weekly get-togethers are missed and self-isolation has taken its toll. Recognizing these challenges, the club executive decided it was time to lift their members morale, to get as many out for a short while as possible, to create a little Christmas spirit, and to find a safe way to see our members.
Even the weather cooperated.
Santa was there to greet each car, alongside our president, Keith Vintner. Tangerines were handed out, followed by a stop to receive a Christmas card. Diane Grenier and France Lebrun from the CAB and the MRC Haut-St-Francois were also there to hand out individual frozen meals and goodies. At the last stop, everyone was handed a tin of cookies.
Some members were unable to attend, but their goodies were picked up by another member.
The balance will be hand delivered to members’ doors.
We truly hope we were able to lift our members spirits in this horrible time we are going through. Thank you members of the executive for arranging this special afternoon, as well as Santa, Diane and France.
A special thanks to Linda Hoy for taking the photos.
We wish everyone as merry a Christmas as possible and are hoping for a happier 2021.
Stay safe, and we hope we can resume our regular activities as soon as possible.
