The Partage/Share food bank of the Missisquoi North Volunteer Centre (CABMN) distributed its Annual Christmas Baskets on Dec. 15 to families and individuals in need this holiday season. Organized this year by CABMN Administration Coordinator, Jennifer McGeean replacing Partage/Share Committee chairperson, June Peacock who was unable to coordinate the preparation for the baskets due to knee surgery, the basket preparation ran smoothly. Peacock was able to partake in the last three days of filling the baskets alongside McGeean and some dedicated volunteers including Potton’s Firefighters and First Responders.
“Jennifer did an amazing job getting everything ordered, delivered and prepared for assembly,” stated Peacock. “I am grateful to her for stepping in and since she has done this in the past, she had no problem replacing me and this allowed me to recuperate without worry.”
For McGeean, the annual Christmas basket initiative is a highlight to the holiday season.
“I really enjoy working with the volunteers and helping the community always leaves us all feeling good this time of year,” said McGeean. “We are extremely fortunate at the CABMN to have so many people who donate, contribute products and who come and help. It is a lot of work but most will tell you that it is well worth the time and effort.”
