Canadian government invests in ultra-high data utility service

After a 10-year journey of promoting and being turned down by one town after another, Civimetrix, a Magog-based communications company owned by Marc Girard, has landed a $3.2 million grant from the Canadian government to implement an ultra high-speed data utility service that is 100 times faster than the traditional high-speed packages that other towns have asked for. The municipality of Austin is willing to make the open-access telecom network happen.
