Residents of Sherbrooke living in certain area codes can now order local cannabis online as the Société québécoise du cannabis (SQDC) is extending its 90-minute delivery service to the Sherbrooke area.

According to Fabrice Giguère, communications advisor of the SQDC, the mission of the company is to bring consumers from the black market to the legal market.

“This 90-minute delivery service is a way for us to compete with the black market while offering safer, less risky products,” said Giguère, who noted this is part of a bigger pilot project that has been deployed since last July.

Clients who reside in the area codes of J1C, J1E, J1G, J1H, J1J, J1K, J1L, J1M, J1N can place their orders on SQDC.ca up to two hours before the Fleurimont location closes. The store is open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The service is available seven days a week and costs $9 per order.
