Nicolas Lecomte stood in front of nearly 200 cegep teachers and support staff Thursday morning outside Sherbrooke’s city hall, demanding the Quebec government listen to public sector workers, as they continue to fight for a new collective agreement.
“Today is a really good example, all of us united, all of us cegep teachers, support staff, professionals, all together, showing the government that our demands are legitimate,” said Lecomte, president of the Champlain College Lennoxville Faculty Union.
This is the second one-day strike used by the union, but this time around they combined their voice with workers from the Cégep de Sherbrooke Teaching Staff Union, Professional Staff Union and Support Staff Union.
