Centraide distributes $1.2 million  for aid in the Estrie region
Last week, Centraide Estrie Executive Director Marie-Hélène Wolfe spent several days announcing the funding that will be distributed among 68 organizations in the Estrie region. Accompanied by outgoing executive director Claude Forgues, Wolfe went to all the MRCs served by Centraide to announce how the $1,257,013 will be donated to the various organizations, consultative bodies community programs. Record Staff – This year, Centraide Estrie will distribute $ 1,257,013 to 68 different organizations, 11 consultative bodies and 8 community service programs in the Estrie region. The support will benefit more than 62,000 people in difficulty in the area.
According to Marie-Hélène Wolfe, Centraide’s new Executive Director, this year’s funding is slightly higher than the amount raised with last year’s campaign, but there is still more work to be done.
“Not only are needs not diminishing, but the demographic context and the many other campaigns, combined with growing socio-funding, make fundraising more difficult,” commented Wolfe. .
The increase in allocations to community-based organizations and programs funded in the seven Mrcs in the region is made possible by the increased results achieved during the 2017 campaign. See full story in the Tuesday, July 10 edition of The Record.
