The Quebec Liberal Party confirmed Lennoxville’s Claude Charron as their candidate for the Saint-François riding in the upcoming provincial election on Monday evening.
Charron told The Record that he intends to continue to serve in his current role as a member of the city council and borough councillor for Lennoxville while on the campaign trail, having confirmed with the city’s legal department that doing so is legal.
“I can run and play my role at the same time,” he said. “I’m not taking any vacation or anything from my municipal duties.”
Charron compared the upcoming election to having a second job and said that he plans to continue working on the municipal issues close to the community while campaigning for provincial office.
