Child drowns in Magog River

Record Staff – A young girl from a family that recently immigrated to Canada drowned in the Magog River in downtown Sherbrooke on Sunday. According to the Sherbrooke police, the girl was walking along the banks of the river with her two siblings and two friends when she slipped on a rock near the Frontenac dam and was pulled under by the current, drowning in front of some of her family members.
