Christmas tree pickup this week around Sherbrooke

By Matthew McCully – For anyone who hasn’t already noticed the many trees lying out on the edge of properties, this week the City of Sherbrooke will circulate to pickup unwanted Christmas trees. The number of trees picked up each year has remained fairly stable over the years, according to a City of Sherbrooke representative. While this year’s pickup has yet to be done, in 2017 between 7,000 and 8,000 trees were picked up in and around the city, weighing close to 70 tons. The trees will be mulched and used as compost.
